Newsletter 1 - 2016 season - PRIMARY NETBALL YEAR 5-8
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Your child has shown interest in playing netball for our school this year. The competition begins with a grading day on Saturday 14 May with the competition rounds starting on May 21.
Being part of the team involves training one lunch-time or after school session a week and playing each Saturday at a time decided by the Coastlands Netball Kapiti. This is posted on their website and our school netball blog.
The games are played at the Te Atiawa courts on Percival Road, Paraparaumu and parents are responsible for getting their children to and from the games each Saturday. It is important your child is supervised at the netball courts.
This year the school will be continuing the ‘no pay no play rule’. This means that if you wish your child to play Netball in 2016 you must have made arrangements with the School Office for payment of your child’s Activities Fees. Your account can be in deficit but regular contributions must be being made to reduce the balance. This can either be by informal drip feeding of cash deposits or setting an Automatic Payment with your Bank. Students will be placed in teams once arrangements for payments have been made.
Other Kapiti Schools have increased their fees quite considerably due to the increases imposed by Netball New Zealand and Netball Kapiti. Waikanae School Fees for Year 5-8 netball in 2016 however will remain at $80 per player. I’m afraid we will not be able to offer a discount for families this year.
There will also be a refundable bond on netball uniforms however this has not yet been set.

Trial dates for year 5 & 6 will be Wednesday March 16 from 3.15-5pm
Trial dates for year 7 & 8 will be Thursday March 17 from 3.15-5pm
I will endeavour to have teams posted on the Netball Blog and on Room 15’s window by 25th March.
Please return the permission slip below by Tuesday March 15th to Room 15 or the school office.
