A little bit more behind the Junior Netball initiative

Junior Netball in New Zealand is changing and to support the rollout of the new Year 1-4 programme in 2014, a promotional video has been produced to highlight the exciting new initiative.
Former Silver Fern captain Bernice Mene features as a coach and mother alongside four youngsters who steal the show, interacting alongside current Silver Ferns, defender Katrina Grant and shooter Maria Tutaia.

The idea behind the video is to engage the wider Netball community with a consistent message about why Junior Netball is changing and what the changes are. The clip is available to be viewed via the NNZ YouTube channel and NNZ, Zone and Centre websites.

Waikanae School Netball Fees

As indicated in newsletter one, Netball Kapiti have increased their fees over the years and has done so again this year from the pressures of Netball New Zealand and inflated running costs of the pavilion and courts etc.  Waikanae School has kept the same fees for many years and we cannot sustain this any more.  Please note that our 'no pay, no play' policy has been enforced since 2013 and even though full payment is not required immediately, we need to see that deposits are being made to cover school activity fees and netball fees.

Junior Netball (Year 1 & 2) = $30 no bond as there is no uniform
Future Fern Netball (Year 3 & 4) = $70 + $10 refundable uniform bond
Primary School Netball (Year 5-8) = $80 +$10 refundable uniform bond

Spread this over the course of an approximate 17 week season (Shorter for Future Ferns) plus all the coaching sessions the children receive, it is still a reasonable price.
